Rising out of humble beginnings these small town industrial workers could not have imagined the roller-coaster ride their lives would take. This merry band of comrades began playing their instruments simply as a way to entertain fellow workers during breaks on long, hot work days. They were hard working men who toiled under difficult conditions but enjoyed their work. Their boss allowed the men to play their music during breaks because it made the workers happy, and the boss loved the music too. Changes came and life turned tougher for everyone, especially the poorest in the town. One day three men in dark suits arrived and spent many hours in the office with their boss who was never seen again. When the new bosses took over the men were told to leave their instruments at home and the lunch and coffee breaks were cut in half. Soon the men yearned to play together and they returned to their instruments. Whenever they played the people would come and watch...and when they finished they would talk about quotas, the new bosses, and about forming a union. One night the band was playing and no one came to watch. They were having a fun anyway when in through the door came a squad of heavily armed police officers with arrest warrants for everyone in the band. The "charges" were for conspiring against the government. The men were put in cells and tortured and asked many questions that none of them could answer. Nothing seemed to make their interrogators happy. Eventually they were all held in the same prison and they began to make music together again. When the media began to take an interest in the "jailhouse band" the new government quickly decided to deport them all rather than face more public sentiment turning against their new regime. The band made a pact to stay together and moved to Babylon. Now, they write songs about their previous lives and their lives in their new home.
